E-Waste, it's
a bigger problem than you may think.

The following video may shock you and disgust you. It is a very real and very disturbing
picture of the route many e-waste products take once they leave your office. At
eCyclers, we want you to know our strict chain-of-custody maintains control over
your equipment from the moment we pick it up until it is safely, securely and responsibly
destroyed by our personnel and subsequently delivered to a USEPA approved recycler.
You can rest assured your equipment will never find its way to off-shore toxic waste
sites like the one discovered in the 60 Minute Following the Trail of Toxic E-Waste and CNN Report
Sifting Through The Mounting Problem of E-Waste.

The Problem:
Rapid advances in technology can render your computers and monitors obsolete in
three years or less; the resulting need for disposal of
"e-waste" presents legal, environmental and data protection challenges.
The Situation:
With a mandate to keep our environment safe, the Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA) investigates contaminated dumping sites, organizes the cleanup, and tracks
down those companies responsible for creating the contamination. In the very real
chance they discover computer equipment disposed of improperly, the EPA will examine
asset tags and serial numbers and trace the equipment back to its original owners.
Should those identifiers uncover equipment previously owned by your company, you
will receive a significant fine, not to mention the accompanying negative
publicity.
The Solution:
Let eCyclers prepare an individualized program to safely, legally and responsibly
dispose of and recycle excess and obsolete electronic components. Maintaining a
strict chain of custody from the time we receive the equipment until it is totally
and completely destroyed, our process tracks each item as it is degaussed, pulverized
and shredded. The result – all data is securely and permanently removed from electronic
storage devices and your company is secure in the knowledge they are compliant with
all federal, state and local regulations.
Storage— Have you thought about . . .
The office space you are wasting holding old equipment?
The yearly cost to keep it?
How that space can be better utilized?
The information that remains on old hard drives?
Donation—Are you aware that . . .
Many donation centers only want the latest equipment resulting in vast amounts of
electronics being improperly and illegally dumped into the nation’s waste stream?
Disposal—Did you know that . . . .
70% of heavy metals (mercury, cadmium, lead) found in landfills come from electronic
waste? And that an estimated 90% of excess U.S. electronic equipment is shipped
to unregulated landfills worldwide?
De-Manufacture—Be aware that . . .
If your equipment is dismantled and reused, critical data is often retrievable;
software licensing agreements are violated.
Our experienced, uniformed personnel will collect and securely transport your materials
to our state-of-the-art processing facility.
All remaining equipment is shredded into pieces 1/2" or smaller and your data
is rendered irretrievable. Serial numbers and asset tags are destroyed in the process
and all material is properly recycled.
Receiving/Tracking
eCyclers utilizes a bar-code system to track your material from arrival to destruction.
All received material is processed within 24 hours of receipt.
Processing
Once your material is destroyed beyond recognition, it is separated into processing
bins for proper recycling.
Recycling
The material in each bin is further processed in order to reclaim and reuse the
plastics as well as the precious, ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Documentation
Your organization receives a Certificate of Destruction from eCyclers documenting
the secure destruction and proper disposal of your equipment.
